Uptown Art Stroll 2010 Nov. 6th 10-5pm : Nov. 7th 12-5pm

Robin Early

Six years ago, Robin Early took a 5 day intensive complex cloth class from Jane Dunnewold, and has been fascinated with fiber art ever since. Every item she makes is hand dyed and one of a kind. She combines silkscreening with stamping and Japanese resist techniques called Shibori. She mixes her own dyes, and makes her own silkscreens, stamps and stencils.

She enjoys making wearable art the most, but has branched out into tablecloths and napkins in the last year. " It's very satisfying to recycle grandma's linens and turn them into colorful new art forms, which make them less formal and more fun to use again. I love doing the Art Stroll because you get to see the artists' studios and feel a real sense of the wonderful and diverse artist community we have in this area."
