2009 Press/Resources
Record number of artists on tap for this year’s stroll!
Fifty-one artists at 19 locations– a record number for this annual event – will be exhibiting Nov. 7 – 8 for a celebration of imagination and creativity. There’s something for everyone with artwork such as paintings, ceramics, mosaics, drawings, cut paper, printmaking, photography, bead weaving, handmade paper, metals, handmade tiles, jewelry, woodcarving, painted furniture, and wearable art.
Art lovers can visit with members of this San Antonio art community and talk with some of their favorite local artists, see works in progress, purchase finished pieces and view artists’ demonstrations on a self-guided tour through this historic neighborhood. It’s an exciting, fun, and free two-day art event you won’t forget.
Olmos Park Terrace is centrally located between McCullough and San Pedro avenues, south of Basse Road and north of Hildebrand. The area was named an historic neighborhood by the City of San Antonio and was the focus of a two-page story in the San Antonio Express-News because of the large number of artists who live in the community. A map of artists’ studios is available at the Art Stroll’s website at www.southofbasse.com or you can find participating artists by finding the purple and yellow balloons out front of each location.
The Olmos Park Terrace Uptown Art Stroll will be held Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 8, from noon – 5 p.m. Parking is available throughout the neighborhood.
