A native Tejana, visual artist, teacher, and writer holds her BA in English and Art, and her MFA in Creative Writing. She has been instructed under such artists and writers as Sharon Bridgforth, Sarah Cortez, Gloria Anzaldua, Mariana Romo-Carmona, Sandra Cisneros, Alicia Gaspar de Alba, Liliana Valenzuela and many others. Flores has taught Art and Creative writing to people of all ages in several of San Antonio’s public and private schools, cultural centers, museums, and privately from her studio, ARTery. Her poetry and fiction can be found in the Lodestar Quarterly, iungo Arts Magazine, The Pitkin Literary Review, La Voz de Esperanza, Revolution: The Reclaiming of Tradition and Voice, Scarcely Scholarly, the Quirk, Mother Tongues: A Literary Exchange Anthology and upcoming magazine SALIR. She has exhibited her visual art nationally.
