In my work, there is focus on contrasts: between silver and gold, between smooth and textured, between light and dark. I like the way that gold and silver work with each other. As the silver begins to soften or darken, the gold begins to stand out. By putting textured surfaces next to smooth ones, or oxidized (darkened) surfaces next to highly polished ones, each help to define the other, compliment the other. By adding stones, I can bring in more color. To put these design elements together and to keep one from overwhelming the other is interesting and challenging for me. Also showing at Martha's house:
