Born in Kansas City, KS. and raised in Topeka, KS., I have spent the past 25 years in Texas. I have had a love of the arts from an early age. Having studied the techniques of watercolor, oils, acrylics, and printing, as well as collage and weaving, I have settled into my main love of watercolor and acrylics. Subject matters are varied, but the style is humorous, quirky, bold, with a vivid use of primary colors. The style looks simple but is actually multiple layers of acrylic paint. I am uniquely partial to painting animals, tropical fish, birds and architectural buildings. I am currently showing at Artistic Endeavors in La Villita, the Los Patios Gazebo (home base of the San Antonio Watercolor Group) and Gallery Rockport, Rockport, TX. Web-site viewing is available at:
Janet also is involved in many art organizations which keep her busy when not painting. She is the continuing Treasurer and Membership Chair of the Texas Watercolor Society, President of the San Antonio Watercolor Group, as well as, Los Patios Continuous Show Chairman & Annual Juried Show Chairman. For the past 6 years she has also been the Chairman of San Antonio Watercolor Month organizing multiple events in the spring. She teaches individual art students in her home studio as well as doing multiple art festivals in many states. She sets up a yearly juried watercolor exhibit for SAY SI's middle & high school students in May in La Villita as well as an outdoor artist festival. This event is co-sponsored by the La Villita Tenants Association and the San Antonio Watercolor Group. Her work is collected internationally.
